The Theatre

So far Atlanta has been treating us well! The theatre is conveniently right across the street from our hotel. It's a gorgeous theatre, especially in the inside.

At night:

The ceiling of the theatre looks like a sky and has shadows of "clouds" that move. When the house lights are turned down, stars appear in the blue ceiling so you kind of feel like you're outside.

This poster for our show is hanging in the middle of the Lenox Square Shopping Mall, located about 10 minutes from our hotel.

Tech days were very long last week, but we had a great opening night on Thursday. We had a long weekend of shows and got to enjoy 2 days off. The audiences here have been amazing. Tanner's family comes into town tomorrow, so we are looking forward to seeing some family for Thanksgiving. Our longest weekend of the contract is this weekend, so tomorrow's day off will be much enjoyed. We have 4 shows on Friday, 4 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday.
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! Eat, drink and watch lots of football :)

Atlanta, GA

We arrived in Atlanta today! Left rainy Myrtle Beach at 9:00am and arrived to sunny Atlanta at 4:30pm. We are staying at the Georgian Terrace Hotel, which is absolutely beautiful. The hotel was constructed in 1910 and was known as one of the finest hotels in the Southeast. On December 15, 1939 the hotel's grand ballroom was the site of the gala reception for the world-premier showing of Gone With The Wind. A 10 million dollar restoration campaign was completed in June of 2001 to include a lounge, refinished ballrooms, fine dining restaurant, expanded atrium lobby, and updated rooms. The hotel is gorgeous...

We are on a very pretty block and the theatre is right across the street, which is convenient! Tanner got a chance to go check out the theatre today and will spend the day tomorrow working/setting up the office. As for me, tomorrow is a day off and tech rehearsals will begin on Saturday.
More to come :)

2 More Days in Myrtle Beach...

Hola, once again from Myrtle Beach! We have been Christmasing for 12 days now. Today was our first day with the full company in rehearsals together (rockettes and ensemble). We did a run-thru of the show this afternoon. Rehearsals are going well! We have been let out early almost every night, which is always a good sign. We travel by bus to Atlanta this coming Thursday and have a day off on Friday before we begin tech rehearsals. The first day at the theatre is always a long one, but it's exciting to finally be on stage. Because our cast is "Atlanta/Dallas" we've been given the name "Atlas" for short:

Along with our first run-thru was an afternoon of trying on and learning to dance in our bear costumes. I am a polar bear again :)

All of the other casts have already traveled to their first city, and as of tomorrow we are the only ones left at the Waccamaw Mall! Though we haven't really had a chance to enjoy it, the weather has been beautiful the last few days. Yesterday was our day off, which was spent doing a whole lot of nothing, and it was great!
Tanner is doing well! Very busy working. Company management is already working on booking everyone's flights home for the end of the tour. The next few days for them will be spent wrapping everything up and getting ready to set up shop in Atlanta. We will be performing at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, which is supposed to be beautiful.
Hope everyone is doing well! Lots of love!
